Explore Asia to introduce tablet PC for Rs 12,000

Explore Asia, one of the leading multi-brand IT distributors, is title sponsor of the 18th edition of CAN Info-Tech.

The company deals in a number of globally recognized brands including Genius, Dell, Adata, among others. It will introduce a number of new products at the event.

Ajay Sadewra, director of the company, talked about its offers and new products with Republica.

What will Explore Asia offer at CAN Info-Tech?

We are launching attractive offers and new products at the event. Visitors can get a laptop worth Rs 14,000 free on purchase of every Dell Laptop. Besides, we have scratch card scheme under which every customer can win gift hampers. Besides, the major attraction will be tablet PCs, which has been priced Rs 12,000 only. The 7-inch tablet of T-700 model has the storage capacity of 32 GB. Panda Anti-virus, whose market price is Rs 800, will be sold at Rs 500 at Info-Tech.

What are your expectations from this event?

Since this event is the largest in the country with highest footfall, our target is to exhibit our products to the masses. So, branding is our motto rather than selling. This expo is a platform for marketing and visitors will get to know about the new gadgets available in Nepal.

Exhibitions like this are often criticized for being more focused on trade than on branding. How do you take the criticism?

It’s justified to criticize if the event is focusing on trade alone. We can trade through our showrooms and throughout the year. Events like this should focus on creating awareness. People can see latest gadgets. They can really learn how to use them and compare the products with similar products from other companies as everything will be available in same place. I suggest if it’s possible trading should be stopped and promotion should be prioritized.

What are the new products, which will be launched at the expo?

USB3 of Adata is a new product, which we will be launching. External 1 TB hard disk in fancy cases which are rain and shock proof, will be another product. This will come for Rs 1,100 apiece. We will be offering Explore Desktop in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000.
