  Rohit Chand To Attend Training-cum-trial At Danish Top-flight Club

    KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Nepali international footballer Rohit Chand is set to fly to Denmark for training and trial at FC Vestsjaelland as his visa application was approved by the Danish embassy in Kathmandu on Monday.

Rohit, 22, will leave for Denmark on Wednesday, his elder brother Rabindra informed Republica. ´He received the entry permit today

    KATHMANDU, Nov 11: With the aim of playing the T20 World Cup, the national cricket team has reached the United Arab Emirates on Monday to compete in the qualifiers of the tournament beginning on Friday.

The top six teams will qualify for the finals to be held next year in Bangladesh.

    KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Region No 8 (Pokhara) crashed out of the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament on Monday while Region No 3 (Kathmandu) and Region No 2 (Birgunj) made winning starts to their campaigns.

Pokhara crashed out at the group stage with a match in hand after suffering its third defeat at the hands of Region No 4 (Bhairahawa) in a Group B match. Bhairahawa recorded a convincing 118-run victory over Pokhara at the Army ground in Bhaktapur for its first win in two matches.

    LONDON, Nov 10:  Robin van Persie turned on his old club by scoring the only goal of the game as champions Manchester United beat Premier League leaders Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday to revive their title challenge.

The Dutchman, who joined United in a £24 million ($38 million, 29 million euros) move in August last year after failing to be convinced about the trophy ambitions of Arsenal, who last won a major piece of silverware in 2005, struck in the 27th minute.
