  Russia Denies Iran To Blame For Nuclear Talks Failure

    MOSCOW, Nov 12:  Russia on Tuesday denied Iran was to blame for the failure to agree a historic deal on its nuclear programme at talks in Geneva, implying the fault was due to disunity among the six world powers.

"The draft joint document suited the Iranian side. But since decisions at negotiations are taken by consensus, it was not possible to make a final deal," a foreign ministry source said in comments carried by all Russia´s main news agencies.

 
  Tibetan Monk Sets Himself On Fire In China: Reports

    BEIJING, Nov 12: A Tibetan monk has set himself on fire in an act of protest in China, reports and campaign groups said Tuesday, as top Communist Party leaders hold a key gathering.

Tsering Gyal, 20, set himself alight on Monday in Guolou, a Tibetan area of Qinghai province in southwestern China, according to the US-based International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) and Radio Free Asia (RFA), which is funded by the US government.

 
  Five Killed In Iraq Attacks, Two Dead Bodies Found

    MOSUL, Iraq, Nov 11: Attacks north of Baghdad killed five people on Monday, officials said, while police found two corpses bearing signs of torture, a scene reminiscent of the country´s all-out sectarian war.

The violence comes ahead of annual Shiite Muslim religious commemorations, when Sunni militants often mount attacks, and as Iraq grapples with continuing bloodshed despite wide-ranging operations targeting insurgents and tightened security.

 
  DR Congo, M23 Rebels Set To Sign Peace Deal

    KAMPALA, Nov 11: The Democratic Republic of Congo and defeated M23 rebels are set to sign a peace deal Monday in what the UN hopes will be a key step in efforts to end decades of war in the Great Lakes region.

The rebels, one of many armed groups operating in the mineral-rich but impoverished east of the DR Congo, have been routed by the national army, who are backed by a 3,000-strong special United Nations intervention brigade.

 
  Senior Haqqani Network Commander Killed In Islamabad: Taliban Sources

    ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: A senior member of the Haqqani militant network which is seen as one of the biggest threats to US-led forces in Afghanistan has been shot dead in the Pakistani capital, the Taliban said Monday.

Unidentified gunmen attacked Nasiruddin Haqqani, the group´s chief fundraiser and son of its founder, on the edge of Islamabad on Sunday evening, the militants told AFP.
